Had a strange day yesterday, lots of bad news and tears. Then i watched this on tv, anyone else see it? geez i kinda wished i hadn't, it was brilliant and gripping but upsetting and now i cant stop thinking about it!

oh well, better snap out of it the weekend is a few hours away :)

So sorry for the delayed post but it seems my moly was stopped by customs and opened. I finally recieved it on Friday when i missed the signed for delivery and my dad had to go and collect it from the post office for me before i finished work. I had been having an awful day, i felt really ill and just wanted to cry so when i returned home to find this lovely little envelope on the work top my heart skipped a beat! my Moly at last after nearly a year travelling....

who wouldhave thought such a little black book could have travelled so far and could contain such prettiness...

It really is a feast for the eyes, you ladies have made me so happy i nearly cried when i was flicking through all the gorgeous beautiful images that are now all mine i cant quiet believe it!

First we had my paintings which i showed you before, then we have Kims wonderfully romantic drawings of her idyllic paddock and cozy house...

Her warm fire and sweet little cats. I want to live in your home too Kim!

Then i turned to Pats spread and nearly cried again! This little teddy i made for her from my Favourite Jeans. We did a Christmas swap together and the teddy was the main part, i made a matching one which was a boy and i have him at home on my windowsill. To see her there looking at such a pretty view made me so happy to be friends with such a wonderful group of people!

This was the end of Pats garden merging into Anna's beach in Spain and what a breathtaking beach it is. Sun sand and sea what more could a girl ask for??!

Well maybe a beautiful castle to stare at? Oh how pretty is this beach? Thanks Anna

Then i stumbled upon Dolors magical house. Her scrummy drawings of her kitchen and little handwritten recipe to make those mouthwatering muffins you can see on the right (i am definately going to give those a try!)

Then i found her lovely smiley tree in the garden, it was such a pretty picture it really made me happy.
All of your artwork is amazing girlies thankyou so much for giving me such a valuable and beautiful journal.......and look here what i found in my back pocket of the moly...

I cannot thank you all enough and i am so sad this is finally at an end i have really enjoyed every second of our adventure together. I am hoping that maybe we can get together again and do another one or something similar? what do you think? i hope you agree as i would hate to loose contact with you all....you are all special.

Gemma's moley is flying home!

Gemma's book is travelling to England! I sent it yesterday, I felt sad because this means that the project is arriving to its end. I have enjoyed every drawing I did and every one that I have seen in the pictures. Looking at your paintings I understand how you live, how you feel at home, and a lot of things that makes me feel between friends. Thank you very much to all of you, it has been an unforgetable experience.

I post a little of my drawing in the moley, it is the first part. To see more you will have to wait a little. Big hugs girls!

Here at last are all the lovely pictures in my moley. I'm so happy with it and I've had a lovely time sitting here and losing myself in the beautiful worlds that you've all created for me.

Firstly, my montage of fairy scenes.

Pat's wonderfully exciting and beautiful landscape. I would so love to visit here and lose myself in a story :)

Anna's delicate flowers, I can almost smell their perfume.

Dolors haunting pictures, intrigue and beauty in a fairytale.

Finally, Gemmas exotic mermaid. The colours are sumptious and my photo does them no justice.

Finally, a brief glimpse of Pat's finished moley. It's been finished for two weeks now, but I'm still not entirely happy with it. I can't keep it though, as I'm sure you're desperate for it Pat!

Thank you everyone for sharing this wonderful experience with me. I've totally enjoyed it, despite being pushed entirely outside my comfort zone. Hugs to you all.x

I wanted to put a text under each entry but I am so bad with computers that I don't know how to do it. So These are the wonderful, fantastic, great... I've finally started Pat's Moley. It's been quite nerve wracking, looking at it, sat on my table while it's waited patiently to be completed. In a fit of craziness I threw some washes onto the page and worked wet in wet. Not my normal style at all and I had great fun. Now I just need to let the washes dry and see if it's worked!!!

My lap top has been playing up no end, so that's why the delay in posting my completed moley. I have a problem with the operating system. It's reluctant to turn on and then won't turn off! Makes me realise how much I rely on the darn thing! So when the moley is finished, I'll scan all pictures at once :)

Anna's Book is Finished

I have finally released Anna's book to fly to her home. I didn't want to let it go because then it would mean that this adventure is over.

Here is a sneak peak of what I painted. When Anna receives it she will post the full lay out.

I have been painting the flowers in the garden and of course the poppies are top on the list right now. I have included them on Anna's pages.

Now that the end is near and all of you will be receiving your finished treasure lets all post the completed books on this blog. OK? I would love to see the finished books too.

Finally I've found a little time to sit down and photograph the beautiful moleys that arrived, oh, over a month ago.

Here are the gorgeous picutures Emma painted in Pat's moley.

Her beautiful words rolling across the pages,

sea and sky and rocks.

The whole picture spread out.

In my moley, Gemma painted a gorgeous mermaid with hair all the colours of the sea and sky. I love it so much Gemma, and all of the wonderful paintings from you lovely ladies.

Now, what about Pat's moley then? Well, partly I'm reluctant to end this wonderful adventure, but largely I'm terrified of making a mistake in Pat's book. It's filled with such delights that I've backed myself into a corner and am coming out step by step to finish what I've started.

So please be patient for just a little longer and it will be on it's way to you Pat :)

Very late but worth the wait!

Hello lovelies

Here is the very very late posting of Kims moly on its last leg of the journey, I am so so sorry i never posted before the wonderfully beautiful pictures of Dolors but my comp broke then my scanner went crazy, well now i have actually managed to scan and save the pics so here they are a little delayed but they say....good things come to those who wait and i can assure you these piccies are definately good!

Here's the full spread out version, a warren of medievel rooms, stairwells and arches, and gothic looking cloaked women, with a ghostly figure lurking behind the arches, it's beautiful and a feast for the eyes.

Wafting down the banks are white cloaked figures of women carrying lanterns, it reminds me of Wuthering Heights!

Here's the ghostly man figure lurking and watching the beautiful young women.

I love it Dolors your so talented!

Well now i must show you the final picture in this moly, the last ever picture i will do and then send on the Kim :( My Mermaid, here's a sneaky peaky just for you to see before it arrives at Kims for the last leg of its journey.

I am so sad this is all over, i am sending this first thing today so it shall arrive in the next few days. Thank you so much ladies for being such an inspiration, i've loved every minute of this and im heartbroken its all come to an end!

I feel so ashamed that I haven't sent a post to tell you I've got Gemma's and Dolors' lovely books. I haven't been able to sleep properly because your books were lying on the desk waiting for me to paint, but I didn't want to paint in a rush, so they have been lying for more than a week and I have been waking up in the middle of the night unable to sleep. I would like to ask you if I can keep them until the end of March. I will have extra time last week of March and would be wonderful to paint without being in a hurry. Thank you and sorry for being late.

I have received Anna’s book and I opened it with excitement. This book is beautiful. The collection of work is consistently wonderful throughout. I am the last one to paint in this Moly and then it get's sent on the Anna to keep forever. Here is the comp photo of Kim's art work:

I also photographed each set of the 2 fold pages so you could see them better.

Aren't the bunnies cute? I would much rather have bunnies then squirrels. The squirrels that run around across the street from my house just tease Ivy and the other dogs.

Look at this stream just inviting me to sit and sketch awhile.

Im adding to the sorry book in that i still have Pats journal, i finished it lastnight but 4got it today so i cant send it!!! durrr ha ha but at least this should give me time to take some photo's and show you guys how its all looking.
Pat your journal looks amazing you will be so happy. But meanwhile i've recieved Kims also ahhhhhh the last leg of the journey, so far this journal is gobsmackingly beautiful! i hope my picture (whatever i choose to do) does it justice. I promise i will try to take photo's tonight and upload them.

Anna's moleskin is nearly done and I'm sorry that I'm behind with the swap! Work has swamped me and I've not had a huge amount of time to post or talk of updates. I'll have some pictures for you tomorrow, after the camera has charged! Then the moley will be flying off across the ocean for the next stage of it's journey.

healing and nurturing to go there.

I received Gemma's book first but because of the mail strike and the weather and who know what else, it came very late. Then a few days later I received Dolors book. I started working on Gem's then would work on Dolors and finally I finished them at the same time. My apologise to you Anna for sending them in at the same time.

Dolor's book arrived last week I guess but because I was away I have just opened my mail today. What a treat to have these special surprises just show up so unexpected and amaze me when I open them. I first turned each page one by one and then spread the whole book out.

These are Kim's wonderful paintings in Dolor's book. They, of course, look so much better in real life but you can see how beautiful they are. I just want to get my chair out of the back of my car and go and sit on this beach and paint. When I grow up and can travel where ever I want I am going to come and visit all of you and every one of these places.

Kim, you really have a wonderful mind and talent to create these exceptional images.

After much anticipation I finally received Gemma's book from Kim after she had painted these wonderful paintings of what she thinks of when she thinks of HOME. I love them all and want to call it my home.

Not one but two treats for you as I reveal the wonderful pictures in Dolors moley that arrived a few days ago, and a tiny peek of Gemma's that is winging it's way to Pat in America.

I have sent this morning, by registered air mail, Anna's moleskine to Gemma. I wanted to send it before but this year I am too busy and i cannot paint. Finally I finished my drawing yesterday and could sent it the last day. I hope it arrive safe and fast to England. I have no photo of my drawing so you will have to wait to see what I did.
Well, I cant's wait to receive my next book! This is a wonderful project and I am enjoying a lot. Thank you Pat!

I'm so thrilled to be working on this project :) Gem's moley is roughed out and will be painted over the weekend, ready to be posted on Monday. I'll give you a peek when it has a little colour. This has been great fun and is something to look forward to in the New Year, when Christmas is behind us and we have our future projects to plan (I do love planning :) )

Hi everyone so sorry for the late posting of these pictures, i eventually smacked my scanner into order (after punching it ha ha )
Any way it's working well now after it's little beating. So here is Dolors beautiful Moly.......

Wow look at this beautiful sketchbook, the long stretch of beach, the happy smiling faces, i just want to jump straight into it and spend my afternoon soaking up the sun and laughing with these happy people.

Soaring high above the pretty little yachts reflecting in the rippling waves.
Listening to the gulls crying.

And watching smiling happy children running on the beach. I love the way Dolors has captured the entire feeling of the beach, it's sounds and sights captured forever on her pages. I love this girls cute little dress and the underside of her foot and the way the light has hit her leg causing shadow on oneside.
Oh how i love the sea i can't wait to add to what is already a lovely journal.
*Just trying to rack my brains now for something that compliments Dolors magical paintwork* i have a feeling this will take a while :)

Kim's book has arrived and it is wonderfully imaginative and going to be so much fun to carry on her theme. I see a fantasy life ahead.

Look at this cutie. How wonderful to have a stallion that moonlights as a Unicorn.

Now we are underwater because there are creatures we all know of that live and are cared for by this beautiful maiden.

Now look at these wonderfully rendered lovelies. I can hardly believe that I get to add to this wonderful book.

What if i published a poetry book?

Hey all, im still awaitig Dolors book in the post but will keep you updated when it arrives. Mine is on its way to Kim (after the mishap at it ending up with Dolors *sorry*)
Meanwhile i was after a little bit of an opinion on whether to go ahead and publish a book of my poetry and illustrations. I'd love to know whether any of you would consider such a purchase if i were to publish?
(For a better understanding of my poetry please pop by my blog and take a look at some of the ones i've posted)
I'd be really really grateful if you could give me your opinion as im a bit scared and nervous of the whole thing and whether it would actually sell if i were to go ahead and do it.

The beautiful olive trees of Anna

I received the Moleskine book from Anna. When you open it, immediately you are transported to a sunny hill in the Mediterranean, where the ground is red and terraced with old stones. A group of trees are there from a thousand of years ago or more, surviving the wind and the cold, the drought and the heat. In the autumn they are full of little fruits, from which people take the oil, source of live for generations.

Anna's olives are incredible, an explosion of light and colours that you can open and enjoy. Here are the pictures, so you can see them. I'm so happy to receive her book. Now I have to think in something to draw. Thank you Anna, what a magical scene.

Wooowww!! - I gasped in admiration when I opened Pat's journal. - And in a few months, I'm going to have Pat's paintings in my book!!. I feel so lucky!!

The whole painting is a beautiful piece of work!!! I couldn't help taking some photos to post them to all of you. Aren't they gorgeous?.

Thank you very much for your present, Pat! I know you are pretty busy and I really appreciate it. It is a lovely gift.

I thought I wouldn't make it! First, the lack of time and then panicking in front of the blank paper. Stop the train I want to get off!!

I feel soooo relieved, Pat!

I painted an olive grove because I love olive trees, so my topic could be 'nature' or 'landscapes'.
Anyway, if you don't feel comfortable with the topic, paint whatever makes you feel at ease.

Now I have to meet Dolors. She lives 100 kms from my place but we are in touch.

I just needed to let you know that I have sent my Moly on to Anna today. I enclosed a little book mark for each of you in the back pocket. Take one if you would like. The post office wanted to know if I wanted to insure it. How do you place a value on something like this? I hadn't thought of that until I was faced with putting a monetary value on this little $11.50 book after everyone has painted in it. Please sign in on the front signature page and sign your artwork too. OK?

Hey everyone,
I hope your moly's are cruising along nicely, me? well i now have all six pages drawn but i am awaiting inspiration for a poem to include in it and ive also got to watercolour the whole lot so in fact i still have quite a bit to do.

From one creative topic to another....I am holding a Chrsitmas swap on my blog, so far it includes Pat, Kim and me if anyone else would like to join in please please leave a comment on the following link, the more the merrier and please mention it to other bloggers alike.

Well this is hard i must admit starting off your journal with a topic that ou hope everyone will enjoy and be able to submit to so i sat and thought, i twiddled my thumbs and the i thought some more and some more when.........Ting! an i dea popped into my head, an idea that everyone will be able to submit and become involved in because it relates to everyone it is

(what home means to you, your idea of home and what things remind you of home)

It diesnt have to be a house or in the same country as you or even your own home its just hat ever gives you hope and brings you comfort your home for your body and mind.

Ahhhh im so relieved i have come up with an idea i just now need to get down and dirty and begin creating my pages ready to send on.

I did it!

It's been really hard, sitting facing those blank pages and finding the nerve to put down some marks. But I have and so far have resisted the urge to rub out my sketches. I've deliberately put the book down for the weekend and will take a quiet moment tomorrow to work on it.

My theme is Fantasy and Dream, so that should open it up for people to be as real or abstract as they like.

How is everyone else doing?

I finally did it! I have thought of a theme and title for my journal.

I awoke this morning with the image in my head for the first 6 portions of my fold out journal. Virtual image is always easier than actual image.

So now the creative procrastination part is over and the get it done part begins.

I hope my theme makes it easy for all of you to paint something in my book. I truly just want the art you love to create.

Welcome to The Adventures of the

Meandering Moleskine!

This Japanese fold-out Moleskine sketchbook exchange blog site will be the posts of 5 artists, 2 from United Kingdom (Gemma and Kim), 2 from Spain (Anna and Dolors) and the last from United States (Pat) and each has been set up as an author. We met on line and share a love for art. I have been enjoying Anna’s beautiful watercolors and Gemma’s gift of words along with her wonderful paintings and asked them if they would be interested in joining me on this adventure. Anna asked Dolors and Gemma asked Kim and now we are five setting off on The Adventures of the Meandering Moliskin.

We will create a theme and then write, draw and/or paint on a spread of 6 pages, then send it on to the next person. Upon receipt of the book, the next artist will scan and then post the previous artist’s work for everyone to see. After the book has traveled to each artist and is returned to the owner it will be filled with the artwork of all of our friends.

By posting regularly and communicating via email we will be able to know where the books are, when they are received and sent. A chart at the bottom shows the book we will be drawing in each month and where to send it at the end of the month.
